Barred birds are blacks chicks, yes, but they have distinct "head spots" from hatch ...which is absent in this chick indicating no barring genes present. Chick is a black breed, not barredIt looks like a young barred rock to me, they are black at first....does she have any real feathers yet? If she's not a barred rock she will probably be a black hen when grown.
