While I wouldn't recommend this as a permanent run and gate (it isn't predator proof) it would be a pretty good temporary solution for keeping your flock secured.

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a DIY door for my run... I don't want to pay for a "real" door which honestly wouldn't fit in the space that I have anyway. I had built a "door" previously out of 2x4s and chicken wire; but it's so heavy and hard to maneuver - this looks so much better, and durable! I really appreciate you sharing this one.

Well written article about using materials on hand or recycling materials for other uses. It's nice it's all temporary and it can be used again, or used for other projects. Nice photos showing how parts are held together.
Indeed it does; I needed something at no cost in a hurry. If you think that's a death trap you should see how the back foundation of the house is propped and wedged....
