Very helpful as I have my first broody hen sitting on some eggs in a far corner of the coop and not in the nest box. The bossy hen I have probably wouldn’t let her sit in the nest box so she found another place out of reach of my “egg collecting hand”.

excellent article. I think I need to remove my rooster and it makes me sad. I know he has scared me a little by chasing my legs and flapping his wings and pulling out neck feathers from one of my one hens. I have a granddaughter and don't want to take a chance that he might go after her.

Sounds like you are right. Best not to risk the kids.

Excellent advice from a pro. I felt this article gave guidance that was needed because I am fairly new to chick raising.

Thanks, very helpful article. I was wondering how to introduce a new chick to my flock should I wish to expand. I just gave away 4 roosters and I fell kind of sad. I might add some hens of the same age as my flock.

One of my chicks had diarrhea and thanks to this article I am sure it was the heat.
