Nice looking coop and a good job of making it look nice and coordinate with the rest of the structures. The construction photos are good for inspiration but the details of the build are lacking a bit. I think it would be hard for someone to use the article to duplicate the build.. There are some neat details like the window shutters and the chicken door but no details about how to build them or how they work. i.e. the chicken door obviously slides in the groove made of 1x2s but is there a way to open it without going into the run? and. what holds it open? these are details an amature builder could find helpful. I like the fact that you share some stories about how the chickens decided to use the coop as opposed to how you envisioned it too, I think many of us can relate.

First this is a really well built coop. The pictures are well done and provide a lot of detail for an experienced builder. An amature may find it hard to duplicate. More detailed descriptions and some measurements, angles, etc would be helpful. The roofing nail length tip is good, a lot of people, I think are shocked that roofing nails are so long that they stick through roof sheathing. I also would have like descriptions of the pulleys you have for opening doors. the picture make it so one can figure it out but a few words form the builder might make it easier to duplicate. I think this article will inspire people, especially as it shows what can be done on a small lot

This was informative and I love the idea of a "lessons learned" section. I also like the idea of the nesting boxes on the door seems like it would make them easy to clean. Could have used more details in some areas, the buried pylons. great idea that I am sure took some figuring out, others might use the idea especially if you made it easier. also little detail about the roof and the construction of the run was kind of glossed over. Good advice about not making the coop a permanent structure and also about finding out about covenants and neighborhood rules.

This very detailed and with the photos and drawings should be duplicatable by most amature builders. A better description of the hot wire and how the system works would be helpful as that part was kind of glossed over and that is a part many people might find intimidating and I would have liked a close up photo of one of the door hinges, also the hole placement for the hoops just says "at certain intervals. more specific would be more helpful but all in all a good cheap, and repeatable build.

Lots of pictures and good description, should be useful for someone with building skills and/ or the ability to improvise. Would be a little difficult for a novice to follow, no step by step or details of the build. Also hard to duplicate unless ones has the same used materials. But it made a very nice coop and one that should give others inspiration if not actual direction. More detail of the roof especially would be helpful at that is an area that gives less experienced builders trouble.
