Very informative! I had no idea hedges could be so beneficial for the local flora and fauna. Great ideas on how to make more cover for the chickens

Extremely well-written article, thorough enough, and easy to understand. Of course, very informative. I'm pretty new to the whole broody experience, but have already noticed some of the behaviours mentioned, and will be on the lookout for them in future brooding attempts.

Thanks for writing this amazing article Perris!

Very informative and well-written article! I had attempted a similar nest build for my main group this time last year, and the birds loved it. Hoping to do it again this year, along with some of the other tips I picked up from this great article! With spring here, this is a wonderful guide to help the people who find themselves struggling to decide what to do with their broody birds, or for those planning ahead

A very informative, and endearing article! I must admit, I got a little emotional reading these stories. What beautiful and special bonds. I too have always believed that birds mourn the loss of their loved ones, and this article just proves it! Thank you again for this well written, and touching article!

Another informative and well-written article. This one I stumbled upon while reading your Ex Batt thread. It was very interesting to hear about the different preferences of each sex, as the aversion towards ashy dustbaths is not something I can observe here, due to the overall lack of good dustbath spots with ash prevalent. Your articles are nothing short of thought provoking, as they force me to observe my flock more closely, or make me think back on past observations and conclusions. The photos help this interesting piece of text all together
This is such an amazing story! I stumbled upon the article as I was reading through the earlier pages of the Shadrach thread, and I'm so glad I did! Your case was truly one of falling in love with chickens

Finally got round to reading this masterpiece. Thank you so much for writing this. It is well written, structured, and very easy to follow. I've noticed most of these behaviours with my own flock, and find them to be the epitome of chicken keeping. Those small behaviors, the everyday things are where the true beauty of chickens is. Thank you once again for writing this article!
