You can sub anything you like. Sometimes I use 1 lb of broccoli florets cut up pretty small. Or three large colored bell peppers. The choice is yours. But you might like sweet potato in a frittata! They are more nutritious than red potatoes.

When i first saw the picture i thought my eyes were acting up. This is a crazy idea but your instructions makes it doable for some of us less skilled types. I'm afraid to show this to my sons wife or mother because they would decide the dogpen my son and i are about to build needs this style to house the huskie pack!!! Great job and very entertaining write up.

Very nice remodel. The roof design was different and added some personality. It appears these girls landed in a very good place.I hope you dont get much hail where you live. I tried the ondura roofing and the hailstorms here knocked gaping holes so i have been recycling metal roofing and use the ondura in my equipment leanto so im not walking in mud.

We do get some hail. Sometimes bad but I did put a 1/2 OSB layer under the Ondura for additional support.

I like the decorations and accessories you added. Makes a peaceful setting. That collie sure likes to get in the picture. He should keep the predator count low by his constant attention to the girls.

Thank you! Yes, our Border Collie does a very good job of surveillance, and runs like lightening out to the coop but slows down his run, about 15 feet before he's right up to the chickens, which is great because he doesn't scare them. Thank you for your kind words - I do try to make it a calm, comfortable, safe haven for the girls, and try to make their lives as lovely as I can.

For someone who stated you had no building experience you masked it very well with this project. Great build and liked the design. Dont know how any wife couldnt like this.

Ha ha believe me zero experience, but the boy in me to keep those chicks was so intense to motivate me to be a builder. There are a few imperfections on those frames and floors and roof but I was able to rigged some solutions only true construction guys will spot right away. Thanks so much, I was so proud of it that I feel like I had to share them, I guess anyone can build anything if you feel like your life depends on it LOL.
