This is an excellent article, very well written and a great design. We are in South Carolina, so we have hot humid summers and periods of freezing temps in the winter. So I can modify this by adding a way to secure "storm shutters" to retain warmth in the cold months. Thank you!

We are actually going to be putting storm shutter on the back with roofing foam lament, so it wont bang when it blows in the event of incriminate weather). Since the studs are on the inside- you could also beef it up with the insulation and a extra panel (where the wind hits the hardest). Leave it open to modification and interpretation. Thank you for the review.

Very informative and inspiring. We have been considering fencing off our property from the road to give the chickens full access, but I think in addition to fencing, we should do hedges on the inside. It is a beautiful way to add security and make the area more interesting for our babies. Thank you @Perris

well, that was a bit of luck with the timing! It's a long term investment in the sense that you have to wait years to see results, but it is so worth waiting for.

Excellent article. The instructions are very clear, including dosage. Thank you for sharing this experience.

I have bookmarked this for reference in case it ever comes up and ordered some slippery elm, to have on hand.

I love this! I call my time with my chickens as "Chicken Therapy". I love to go sit with them after work, the girls all come and roost on or next to me and the boys take that time as their chance to eat and show off their most excellent dancing skills.

Thank you for this article, demonstrating an easy, low fuss way to do it! I think we are going to give this a try!

We have been going back and forth over whether or not to raise our own meal worms. We had also seen the 3 drawer method and it seemed like a lot of fuss which turned us off the idea.

You're welcome.

The three drawer method was what prompted me to try this.

This is a very informative article. Making sure that the broody has control over her environment seems like it would make her more comfortable and lead to a more successful hatch and I really like the idea of using natural materials.

Very informative and entertaining! Thank you!
This is very helpful information. Understanding the digestive process in more detail will help us ensure proper nutrition for our chickens to give them the maximum quality of, what we hope, is a maximum life span.

It is far more important to us, to achieve maximum longevity over maximum egg production.
