Great job of combining a dog house with a coop. This is really a nicely built shed and it has everything a hen could want. Be nice to see pics of the building process of the shed itself.
I never thought I'd see enough pictures but here they are! Good visuals to show the construction phase and the thought behind your decisions. Awesome pics of the girls in the flower beds!
Nice work in creating the run and making the shed into a coop. Not sure if I like the roost window being outside of the run; just worried about a predator coming at night right where they are sleeping. Agree about maybe needing more ventilation and my hens would fly or jump right over that fence, but your look happy, so Good job!
What a great story. Grandma would have loved the coop, I know. Good job of building this coop and run and of making it so attractive. It's easy to see how your husband went about things from the pics.
Wow, so nice to see a plan and costs for the plan. I actually made the same but couldn't figure out how to get the info online. Could just take a pic like you did.
Do you get many critters from the water behind you?
You did a great job with building this and showing how to do it. Your hens have plenty of room and it looks nice too. Did you ever fill in the space where the roof rafters extend out? I'm not sure if my hens would be safe with that open; we have opossums, raccoons, stray cats, etc..
I like your roof and where in the world did you get that plywood so cheap? I also am totally stealing your idea to lock the door with two screw in eye bolts. God job in building a solid and comfy place for your chickens,
The pictures are in reverse order but they are good ones. You can see how the coop went up and understand the details. The tarp roof may not work in some locations but this is a good example of a simple but roomy run/coop. There really isn't an indication of a hen house, exactly?
This is a nicely sized coop built with readily available materials and it's easy to see the process and follow along.

I'm not sure which one is written about. They both look nice but seem to be for different uses? Be nice to have some 'as we went along' pics and to be able to see inside.
Really like the looks of this cool coop. Wish we could see pics inside and understand what your issues were. So we don't have to learn the hard way. LOL
