A nice article that lists the APA accepted silkie colors and has helpful charts. I love the inclusion of pictures so people can look to see what color their chick or older silkie is.
I would advise against the space heater, though. It is a fire risk and also a lot of space heaters have coatings on the heat elements that as they burn off, can produce fumes that are toxic to birds. A heat plate brooder or heat lamp would be a better choice.
