I was just so excited that my homemade incubator set up works so well I wanted to share it! I have posted on here before about making my homemade incubator. I finally got to make it. I am so excited because it works so well!
First of all don’t be afraid to use heat tape! I know it’s originally for reptiles but it worked great for hatching chicken eggs! It worked better than any of the lightbulb incubators I have made.
I made this incubator for about $150. I bought a non working wine cooler.(I liked the glass door) You could also use a mini fridge, big fridge, smoker, cooler, plywood box, or whatever you got!
My idea was that I wanted to make it as low maintenance as I possibly could. I think I only Ed opened the incubator maybe a total of 5 times throughout the incubation and that was just to add water to my humidifier.
