Guide to Assisted Hatching for All Poultry

Excellent article. Thank you.
This is the best instructive guide to assisted hatching. Everyone, whether they believe in assisting or not, should read this prior to incubating eggs.
Excellent article!
I've read this article multiple time and referred other people to it. I've assisted my eggs successfully because of it. It's simply an awesome article. Easy to understand. Accurate. It gives you confidence to assist and walk others through it.
I’ve used this and shared this with numerous people! So very helpful ❤️

This is a very helpful article!
I have read this article and then referred to it several times as my chickd, ducklings and goslings hatch. It is very informative, easy to understand and a great reference to me.

Thank you 😊 for the article.
This guide was super helpful. I saved two malpositioned but otherwise strong and healthy chicks so far that would not have hatched by themselves. I plan to do the same with any incubated eggs in future that need just a little helping hand to enter the world.
Thank you so much for this article. I just incubated 10 eggs. Only 5 hatched on their own. I assisted 4 of them and they are all doing great! The other one was already dead when I cracked it open. I'm so happy to have 9 chicks instead of just five!!
Very helpful. I tried to follow the directions, unfortunately the chick didn’t make it, but I just don’t think that one would have been able to.
Omg once I read this I realised how much of a miracle my first hatchling was. She is a australorpe frizzle and she was our first hatch, 100% unassisted and she is super strong… from what I can tell now she hatched too early she finished zipping and gave one big push and she popped out, she still had a yolk (we thought that was normal😂) and now I can tell she hatched feet over head and away from her air cell

Amazing will re-read a couple of times as this can save some lives in the future!
Very helpful. Currently incubating for the first time and I personally couldn’t take a hands off approach if a chick was struggling so I’ve been searching for information on how to help if needed.
Thank you so much for your article. Day three of hatching. There were many chicks that were crowding the bator so I started moving to a brooder. Then there was a small pip on one egg I assumed it was ready to hatch. I heard a faint peep from one of them. The next day pipped egg still not unzipped. Actually I had several eggs remaining in the incubator past hatching day. I assumed they were not going to hatch but then I heard “cheep cheep”. So, Leave it alone I did! Later that day another hatched and I was surprised the pipped one still had not unzipped so I told hubby “ I heard if they are too weak we shouldn’t assist. This one was peeping but now not hearing much. Nevertheless, I grabbed my phone and checked out your article. Decided to make sure the pip was all the way through for safety air hole. Flicked the tiniest bit of shell off the already pipped area but didn’t pierce the membrane. The Peeps had stopped by then so after a few I decided to pierce the membrane. I saw black feathers. Left it alone. After a few minutes the peeping started back in earnest. The former “pip” was apparently done by some exuberant sibling because the next thing I know there was a pip and unzip in a different location and out popped the chick! I know it needed air. I saved it because of your article!
Thanks a bunch! I just saved a duckling because I knew exactly what to do when I recognized the bruise like mark on the shell where it was turned the wrong way! If I hadn’t read your excellent article I would have had one less baby.
Wonderful guide to assisted hatching! This was very helpful.
Wow, very thought out and complete!
Super Informative. I haven't had to assist very often, but when I do I always read this over again.
