After the chicks hatch in the incubator and are moved to the brooder they generally stay in (weather permitting) the brooder till they are approx 6 weeks old. They then go to my "transitional" area where they can get used to the outdoors. First they go in the "porch bins" at night and outside in daytime in a secure portable pen. They stay here till approx 3-4 months old. I also have a "Quarentine area" for new arrivals.
