Romadfoxs Chicken Coop

What a great idea - using the trees for your land to make a coop that fits in perfectly. Well done!
Functional and absolutely beautiful coop!! This coop is extremely well thought out and cleverly built for both the hens and the roos. Lovely. Wish he could build mine!
Love the cabin-look and how you thoroughly predator proofed it! Your flock is very lucky!

Like the idea of keeping with the 'Main' house! The only problem I see is the cinder block foundation, I think it would shift and become unlovely or worse case scenario buckle over? Other than that a cool build.
I'm totally in love with your coop and am inspired to do something very similar for my impending 5th coop (which means I will probably start in my husband will end up finishing it because that's the way it usually goes). Love the Roo Cave idea!! I have several extras from recent hatches and although I planned to eat them, I've found that I'm just not the killing type. I may have to do something similar.
I love the cabin coop!!
You guys did a fantastic job!
I am currently building my 1st coop.
I only have 3 acres with mature pines, I wish i had the logs on hand to use for my run like you did. It's a great way to use what you have on hand!
This is definitely in my top 5 coops!!
Thanks for sharing!

I really like the idea of building a log cabin coop but disagree with the use of the chicken wire.

Beautiful coop and thank you for some ideas of using chicken wire on the inside. I live in Oregon and we have all kinds of predators like you do. Great Job and love the roo cave!!!

I love the roo cave! I've never seen that done before.
Do the hens have nesting boxes or they just lay on the floor of the coop?
Overall, really cool and great use of local resources that saves money. Those skinny logs will regrow in just a few years on your property, which makes this build eco friendly too.

I love this coop idea. It is both beautiful and serves its purpose. The coop page was also well setup and shows all the steps taken to build it!
