Thank you, Lisa!
Excellent article, Debbie! Well executed experiment with the control group (how many of those hatched, by the way?). I'll look into this product and test it out on my own flock.

Thank you. I started with 5, two weren't fertile, so wound up with three that hatched. I still have two of them and know the person with the third so I can keep tabs on them, but thus far, they are normal as can be!!
This is a great article. I hatched 3-fertile eggs with a broody hen that were purchased. I never stopped to think about what diseases I could have brought in from the outside of the eggs. But now I will. Thank you.

This is a fantastic article and well thought out. I spent the last 21 days following this experiment, the knowledge I have gained not only how use an incubator but how important it is to sterilize the incubator. It will be encouraging to follow the growth of these little chick that were soaked in Odoban before hatching, to see if there are any other effects on them.

Excellent article Debbie! Thank you for doing so much research and then conducting the experiment, it is a huge contribution to our chicken community and especially my flock! I'm looking forward to collecting more data on the use of Odoban on hatching eggs, it truly looks like a viable method to be able to hatch sanitized eggs from a Mareks positive flock, to then be able to vaccinate un-exposed chicks!

If you've ordered eggs on line and don't know if Mareks is a possibility, or your own flock has Mareks and you are hatching your own eggs, this article will help you sterilize your eggs to help keep the chicks safe at hatch. Wonderful job Debbie!
