The Simplest Gravity-fed, 5-Gallon Bucket Waterer

I once made one of these, but the screw on lid was not in the budget. Instead i had a regular, non watertight lid, that I piped clear silicone into before I closed.
I learned that clear silicone does not make a good bucket seal, because as soon as you take that lid off, and as soon as the seal breaks, it is broken forever. you must pull it out and pipe in new silicone.

other than my own stupidity, these waterers are easy to make, easy to use, and inexpensive.
Also you can do the same with a wide flat tray and 3 inch holes cut even with the bottom of the bucket, for a similar easy feeder.
Everybody should know how to make these

A very easy and useful design for someone who needs a large waterer. Good explanation and comments about what to be watchful for.

I like the pictures! A couple more would be useful.
