My girls were outside and one of my kids did something (I don't know what, I wasn't watching.) Now one of my 8 week old Barred Rocks can't keep her balance and she keeps falling over. I can't tell if it's her leg or her wing that is hurt, but regardless I don't know what to do about either. Her one wing does look slightly droopy I guess, but would that cause her to not be able to walk? I really need help immediately. What can I do for her? And where do I go from here? HELP!!

She is lying quietly on a blanket in the house right now, on her side.

The one of them said something about trying to grab her and her wing getting "caught" on her fingernail, this is coming from a five year old of course. Although she did say that the bird made a loud noise when this happened.

oh geez - lets see if we can get someone with more knowledge than me to chime in. for now i'd keep her warm and still. when one of our birds is hurt we put in a smallish cage with lots of straw for her to lay in. you might have to treat for shock if her wing is broken.

can you **gently** feel her wing for breaks? can you tell if its still in the socket or is it dislocated?

sorry
:-(

I was feeling both her wings and couldn't seem to feel anything out of the ordinary, although I was a little panicked at the time so I might have to do it more slowly this time. Right now she's sleeping (on a New Kids on the Block sleeping bag in my dining room

) and I don't want to wake her up. She can stand but then she kept falling forward and couldn't keep her balance. Would a broken wing cause this kind of reaction? It doesn't appear to me that her leg(s) are broken.

Head injury? So what am I supposed to do with her at this point? If I don't know what's wrong with her then how can I help her?

I dont know. She may be OK, I would keep her away from all the others, kep her cool, and make sure she has water. I dont think there is probably anything you can do, except wait.

It is a good sign if there is no blood from her mouth, and she is somewhat alert and trying to walk. Maybe just a mild concussion?
