The love childen's Adventures...sad update

So I will tell you the love child is a roo who's name is Leon, he is a bantam mix and We love him. he arrived in Kansas on 4/20/10 he was 3 months old he decided that spending 30 days in jail was not for him so with the help of his girls he escaped the bringer of food lady found him free ranging with his lovely girls and finding all kind of good treats, he went into the pen that night and stayed oh well he won that battle little brat. He has been busy romancing the babies they are 2 months old and getting bigger then him he has also romanced the 3 bantam EE's and the only Americauna in the flock. he crow every morning till he gets the humans to come out and open the gate for the ladies to free range. and then he crows till the human woman gets his girls their morning scratch. then he is done crowing until afternoon when he thinks they need more treats. He praises all the ladies for their egg each day the older bigger hens have not been swayed by his dancing yet but Leon is not giving up he continues to dance and sing for them he lets them know when he finds some yummy food and then stands back until they have had their share then he will eat some he is trying to be a great rooster still a little impatient with the romance part but he is a teenage and has ranging hormones but he is trying to be nicer. yesterday some strange lady showed up and the girls and himself were put into the pen which no one was really happy about but the nice human lady and the young human bringer of food bought out treats so that was nice. there was some talk about having to move the new coop further away and making a "hallway to the pen" he did not think that was nice since everyone liked the new coop where it was oh well its being moved. and finished in the next 2 weeks, also there was dirt dug up last night and Leon called all the ladies over to see what the builder of things had unearthed all the chickens worked really hard to spread the dirt around and help as much as they could since they fenced off the garden and the chickens were not allowed over there anymore they need a new place to dig, there seems to be alot of work going on but Leon and his crew have been busy helping in any way they can. I will be posting pics of Leon and his girls later but here is the start of the story. hope everyone enjoys.

Well the excitement of the day was an "intruder" in the door way of the pen as Lola screamed out the warning Leon did his best to scare it off, he ruffled his feathers he charged he crowed but that thing would not leave finally the Human care taker came out, she shook her head and removed the "intruder" from the doorway, the blue holder to the folding chair was put away while the human just laughed at the silly chickens. and told them to settle down. Leon did not find anything funny about that thing being near his girls and nothing he did would make that stupid thing go away what was a rooster to do. So he lead the ladies out and tried to find the best spots for yummys and tired to make the ladies forget about that stupid thing but He kept his eyes out for anything else blowing in the Kansas wind.

Well the builder of things man came out and moved the new coop to the back fence where they had just dug up some nice dirt for him and the ladies to play in and now they cover it with the coop but then where the coop was now was a new play ground until they moved the old coop (still being used until new one is done) into the place where the new coop was and fixed the fence so the poor chickens were left just where the old coop was to dig around it luckily there was a bunch of bugs and yummy food under it. but poor Zoe was trying to lay an egg while they were moving the old coop silly people. oh well at least they got some scratch and bread as a treat for being such good chickens while the building is going on and they are very welling to help the builder of things spread the dirt out that he puts out when building things. Leon wants to introduce his ladies to everyone so everybody knows who his pretty ladies are. so here is the list of his girls

Charlie (the blue Americauna) she was supposed to be a he but lays a pretty blue egg. lol

So he has romanced charlie the bantams and the babies he is working on making the bigger girls fall for him also but he is young and needs to work a little bit with them. He is outside crowing to the girls to let them know that there are all kind of good foods laying around today.

Well Leon has gotten his routine done to an art now, He crows until the bring of food lady comes and opens the door for the ladies to go out and free range and for him to romance all the ladies as he runs around the yard dancing and crowing the ladies just don't seem to understand that it is time for romance they are to busy looking for worms and other goodies left from the night before, oh well he romances them a little then goes about finding the goodies for the ladies maybe if he gets them some good food they will be more willing to romance with him then at around 9am he starts to grow so the lady who brings the treats will come out and give the girls some scratch this makes his girls very happy which makes him a happy rooster. he listens to each of their egg songs they are so proud of laying that egg. Yesterday was not a good day to be a chicken the water was falling from the sky and all the girls looked like drowned rats with feathers he kept trying to keep them in the coop and pen where it was dryer but they wanted to be out in the rain. the lady that brings the food kept telling him that she could not do anything about the rain that was up to mother nature who ever that was he wanted to have a talk with her so he crowed all day trying to get the water to stop falling but it did not work, well at least to day the rain has stopped and the sun is shining a little which is good. all the girls got dry over night so now they all look better today and maybe he can get some romance done and then he will crow for the treats maybe he can even talk to some of the older girls they have stopped chasing him and will even come over if he calls that he found some good food they are warming up to him he is just so happy that he could burst. they all gave their approval to the new coop's placement and seems the builder of things is doing a good job but they are worried that there seems to be big hole in one side since the wall and roof aren't done yet, and where are the roost and lay boxes they need some more work and they all made sure to have the bantams check under the coop and make sure it was sturdy which they did very well. so with the approval of the coop going well they are sure that the builder will get that hole fixed and this winter they should have plenty of room to move around and snuggle. but today is a day to get caught up on finding food and romancing they will worry about the new coop another day.

Well this last weekend while the builder of things was moving the new coop and finish building the wall the bringer of treats and opener of the gate brought out the computer to check byc to see what was going on while she was checking the garden Leon decided it was his turn to use the computer and tell Mrs chickendad what he had been up to so he is Leon on the computer and the babies are on the table watching the little girl in the picture is my grand daughter Cecelia she figured she check out what the rooster was doing.

Well the Love child is settling in nicely it is amazing the time that he has been here he has matured so much he is such a gentleman he finds food for the ladies he crows when they do their egg song. he keeps his eye out for danger and makes sure to crow so that the girls get their treats everyday. he is such a great guy he did give the builder of things his approval of the new coop Leon even checked out the new nest boxes just to make sure that his ladies would like them he did tell the builder that he would need to put something over top of it and on one wall (even if its not done yet ) but it is looking good so far it is funny when Leon talks to us I think he is trying to tell us what needs done. he takes really good care of his ladies and seems to have gotten the dance figured out I think it makes me laugh. he does love to crow which I realized that I missed without even knowing it.

He is adorable. I love reading about him and his adventures. Reminds me of my roos!
