This was the difference in them 3 weeks ago, same age:
Blackie first:

We gave this one away:

Two days after we gave away the little roo, in the middle of the night, Blackie made a "pathetic sound that would hardly remind you of a crow" which was during a really amazing & terrible lightning/thunder storm.
It was 3x in a row and he/she was stretching their neck while screeching on the perch, looking like the real deal. Blackie also did this the next 2 nights (1x each night -3 pathetic sounds in a row) but not since.
*Edit: Heard the "odd screechy 3x in a row sound" coming from the coop this morning 07/12/11

Blackie is the sweetest most tame chick we have, a true sweetheart. But it is illegal for us to have a rooster

So ... please cast your vote? Or is it just truly too early to tell, I've read several times "thought was a rooster & then it laid an egg".

Oh my you have a 17yr old goldfish? Is it in a bowl or a tank?
If a bowl what size? Is it a common goldfish or special like an oranda?
I had a betta that lasted 5 years, I thought that was a long time.

i would say roo ours dont start to really crow till around 20-25 weeks so you have time to let them grow out an make sure it's a roo.breeder stock will be much heavier then hatchery birds easy to tell the difference when picking them.

Here's our black orp. she's a little bit small, but we got her at either 10 or 12 weeks old. This was only a couple days or so after getting her.

How old is "blackie" in those pics? My oldest black orp is a pullet and looks just like it,only bigger. When it comes to orps(and any chciken really) there are soo many differentials. You have hatchery, pet, breeder, and show qualities.Hatchery birds tend to be smaller/lighter(ur buffs)...While the better quality, the bigger/heavier. In boys and girls. In orps you also have English orps and american orps.English is by far different than american versions. But Orps can be very confusing.

Whiskey Bay ~ The above set of outdoor photos were taken yesterday. How old is yours?

Thank you everyone for your replies, Jimmy I tried to send you a link but your message box was full.

I hope all or most of you check back into this thread because I would like to ask what you're basing your vote/opinions on ... feathering or face?
