I have a small flock, 2 adult hens and 2 7 month old hens. I dewomed all of them with Wazine followed up with Ivectum back in May. Just to check we had a fecal done on one of the adults and 3 rouond worm larva showed up. Should I do wazine and Ivectum again? Also last time I mixed the Wazine in their water for 1 day and the Ivectum 2 weeks later. We put a small bit of Ivectum on a piece of sliced turkey and fed each chicken. I'm wondering if we need to up the dose or try something esle.

Do another round of the ivermectin.

Actually, you might want to move ahead and use Valbazan. The thing is, it gets all worms and it supposedly does it over a matter of several days. It doesn't get the external parasites though as far as I know.

Thanks everyone for the reponses. What if they do have adult roundworms that didnt show up will it be too much using Safeguard or Valbazen? What the dosages for these?
 
Dawg says Valbazen doesn't kill them all at once and I've read where you have to be certain about the dosage. I've done it with mine and it nailed a tape worm problem but you'll have to look up the dosage here. I think dawg has posted them somewhere.
 
Valbazen dosage is orally, 1/2cc for standard size chickens and 1/4cc for smaller chickens. Safeguard equine paste is orally, a "pea" size amount for each chicken. Safeguard liquid goat wormer is orally, 1cc for giants, 3/4cc for large fowl, 1/2cc for standards, 1/4cc for smaller chickens. You need to redose in 10 days after the initial worming. There is a grand total of 24 days withdrawal. If these wormers arnt at your feed store, you can order them Jefferslivestock.com or call them.

1.5 yr old SL Wyanottte
7 month old Black Copper
7 month old EE x RIR mix

I would dose them with valbazen 1/2cc. Repeat again in 10 days. I always worm on a regular schedule. The 500ml bottle will last you a long time and has a 2-3 year expiration date. Worms steal the nutrients that chickens need to thrive on, literally starving them....a slow death. You can put sand in their run/pen, it helps keep everything dry and cuts back the parasite load.

Do I just put it on a piece of bread or whatever they will eat? I will try the sand... thanks again
