Well, I finally got homemade pizza done today. Thanks Frugal for the inspiration! Haven't made pizza in quite awhile. (We've been watching our calorie intake.)
Here's our homemade pizza sauce if anyone wants to try it....
I prefer to can tomatoes alone and make sauce later from the following recipe. You can get a printed copy of the
recipe here.
Pizza Sauce
1 (14 1/2 to 16 oz) can tomatoes, whole or diced
(I use a home canned pint jar of whole tomatoes)
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp onion powder
1 Tbsp sugar
Place all ingredients in a blender
and blend until it reaches desired consistency.
Heat sauce and cook 15 minutes to blend flavors.
