BYC Mentioned in the Wall Street Journal - What do you think?

I think it's interesting, but it seemed a bit one-sided. Why is New York writing about Salem, Oregon? Can't they find chickens in the Big Apple to write about?

i think its kind of funny how it seemed to say that all we do i conspire how to hide our chickens from the government and how we conspire on how to change the laws and that's all we do.
Yeah, they didn't use the buzzwords about sustainable, local, humane, any of that.
Or the fact that chickens are easier than cats or other domestic pets.

Aha, thats a nifty mention. I bet you do get some more members. They were right about the economy driving some of us to get our own birds for eggs. Thats the reason that I got mine.
You know, I bet you could write the editorial page and back up your website with its true purpose. I came here to learn how to care for my chickens, and to use this sites resources for purchasing my chickens. I think you should write them. I bet that if you write a nice and polite mission statement of your sites intentions they would print it. It is true that sometimes that we do recommend ways to hide the chickens but I bet the majority of your members live in areas that allow chickens in the first place.
