I am buying from Julie as well. I'll have my new flock around the end of this month. I bought - Blue and Black Copper Marans, Penedesencas, Appenzeller Spitzhaubens, Welsummers and if that won't keep me busy enough - my friend talked me into (really he did - twisted my arm and everything !!! LOL) going in halves on a trio of coronation sussex on eggbid from GreenFire Farms. I can't wait !!!! Julie was nice enough to hatch them for me. She really is a nice person to deal with.

My goal next spring is to get some Silver Sussex from GreenFire Farms. Paul said he won't have any until later and they'll probably go for $1000 for a trio. I wish he'd sell day old chicks (cheaper than $750 though). They are really nice looking.

Has anyone heard of anyone having "bantam" sussex? I've been trying to find some. All I can find is overseas and then only in the light, buff, and sometimes silver coloring.

Welcome Jeff! Not sure where Guy is, but nice to see you found us.

Hi everybody!

I hope I can still come to the meetup Saturday. I have a terrible cold. So far no fever, but I feel awful. AND I had to get up at 4:30 this morning and repair and extend my electric fencing. My dogs just couldn't take all the partying the bunnies were doing in the yard and managed to get out.

Does anyone need?:

Easter Egger Cockerels or Pairs between 3 and 4 months old

Bantam Sultan Cockerel about 4 months old, maybe older

RIR cross Cockerel/Young Rooster.....looks like a RIR or New Hampshire Red but a little smaller.

Any free mixed bantam chicks, around 3 weeks old, and one older black Sultan/Cochin cross chick named Elvis...has sideburns and slicked back hair!

Maybe more....have to think.

I also had a white frizzle rooster and two black Langshan pullets at point of lay sold a few weeks ago, but they girl put me on temp hold, but I haven't heard a word, so they might be up for sale too if I don't hear from her by then. I might keep one pullet.

If anyone is interested just let me know and I can bring them Saturday, if I don't get sicker. I'd sure hate to spread anything more than a cold.

***Looking to buy***

d'Uccle pullets or hens

Wheaten Marans pullets or hens

Lavender and Wheaten Ameraucana pullets or hens (not Easter Eggers)

Are the Coronation Sussex basicly a Light Sussex with the addition of Lavender?...or is it something else. The color looks like a Lavender or light gray in photos, but I can't tell for sure. They're just beautiful, lucky you! I'd love to get some chicks from you sometime, after I rob a bank I'm sure!

Anyone hear going to the heart of the ozarks poultry show in fayetteville november 7th.

Verycherry..... they don't have any black....just lavender around the neck, it's suppose to get darker as they get older. My friend is going to keep them at his place (I go up there most Saturdays anyway) until they begin laying... I basically prepaid for a trio from him. It's to both of our advantage. They won't be as pricey then as they are now...If you notice, the price is already goin down. I'm excited though....we'll see. I'll make a note of you when they start hatching to let you know. Our next venture, I hope, will be the Silver's. I especially like them.

rbamterry....That's awesome about your daughter. That's a lot of hard work...she should be really proud... and you guys too !!!!

cbbantams....what's this about a show in fayetteville? I could soooo go to that one!!!
