What a pretty bird! Thanks for the "play by play" picutres with ages. I am watching two 6 weeks olds for signs of roo and I liked following the comb etc. of your EE.

Any eggs yet???

I love seeing the color transformations.
I just wish EE"s had rules of distinguishment ( for females or males) early on.

My 2 week olds, the ones in my garage brooder, there are 7 of them, are almost fully feathered, nice tails too.

In some breeds, says girl. (when the tail comes in really fast, and feathers)

In some breeds, sexlinks work. (color hints)

However, as excited as I want to get seeing my 2 week olds feathering nicely, with big tails, thinking they are girls.
I can't..........they are EE's. I have to wait. boo hoo.

I wish they had tell tale signs in the early stages.

This is Munkie, an EE I hatched from a EE roo and a RIR hen.

1 wk (She's the one on the left. The other little chick didn't make it.)

I will update with an egg picture when that happens.

That's a boy, I'll tell ya now. . See the post below it on the "pullet" turned roo? That is most likely your case too - Every really light chipmunk EE I've ran across turns into a boy.

I don't know if I ever updated this thread. I'm just rereading the entire thing. This baby, is a pullet. I still have her. She is a very neat little thing. her name is Kricket.
she's a scaredy cat.
she's black, white and tan, and very highlighted.

these pic are about a month old. will have to try get new ones. she's quite skittish. edited to add, her highlights are much bolder then the pics. she's faded looking. she's quite a "LOUD" colored bird. very neat. Her sister is same colors, but her feather edging is different pattern.
