Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Theoretically, two packages were to be shipped to me on Monday by Priority mail. One arrived today. The 18 eggs I had ordered plus 3 extras arrived intact! That is a relief. The other package? .... Well, I'm hoping the seller remembered to send it. I "[bought] it now" on eBay two weeks ago and asked him before purchasing if he could send it this Monday instead of last... There's no shipping information listed on eBay. Please let it come in tomorrow.

If he hasn't sent it, I suppose I'll have to cancel the order. I am not buying another incubator or staggering a hatch this early in the game. Oh, well. Here are the pretty eggs that are now resting in my shower, one of the cooler places in the house.

Thanks for the eggs SCG! I'm so excited! All I have to do now is resist the temptation just throw 'em in the incubator until Saturday...

Does anyone know how to store them until Saturday? All I know is pointy end down....

Jump in!! There are a number of people with eggs already in their cookers... I predict someone will have a shipment show up Monday and they'll be late.. All's fair and fun!!

These are the instructions we used to make them.

Mine finished: I put linoleum on the floors for easy cleaning, and I cut half the top off and used hardware cloth so I can use it as a brooder.

Ok, Mahonri... Here's what my bator looks like with 120 eggs in it.. This is a homemade incubator.. There are 2 dozen eggs in two cartons, one on each side underneath the angle of the ones you can see... I had to go this route since my other incubator still has about 80 eggs in it that go to lock down tomorrow... Just the way the egg availability worked out due to a family wedding out of state earlier this month... LOL I'm planning to move these all into the other incubator on the 6th after it's finished cooking the current batch..
