Hi all! I too, am a Michigan "chicken" farmer. I just recently got started on the chicken trail. Have wanted to do this for a while now and am very happy to say, we have a start to out brood. We have 8 Isa browns, 2 ameracanna (not sure of the spelling) and 14 meat chickens in the mix. I am looking to get more soon, but I think this is a good start. By the way, I am from Oxford in northern Oakland County. Good luck to you all in you chicken ventures!
Hello and welcome corvettechick! Check out the link in mine or Opa's siggy for info on the upcoming Michigan Chickenstock. It is being held this Saturday and we would love to have you there. I am sure you will be able to find more chickens there too

Welcome to our mania. This is probably the best thread on BYC. This year's Chickenstock is going to be the best one yet. Come and make it even better.
Hey corvettechick, welcome to the MI thread of BYC, glad to have you! This Saturday is our annual Chickenstock in Lansing. It's a great place to bring the family, meet other chicken people, eat great food and buy/trade chickens. You should come! Here's the link for info: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=443960
If anyone is interested..I have a pair of Silver Spangled Hamburg Bantams for sale. Last years hatch. Nice birds, from exhibition lines. $20. I will not be @ Chickenstock. I live south west of Ann Arbor about 30ish miles. PM me if interested thanks.
This will be my first chickenstock and I am looking forward to being with a group of people who don't think chicken talk is a little wierd - come if you can it sounds like great fun.
corvettechick! We started on our own venture in chickens a little over a year ago. It's great fun and you will learn a lot here!
So I've had an ad for Isa Browns for sale on craigslist for a few days. This morning a lady called asking if we wanted a leghorn for free! I'll take anything for free. I've never had a leghorn but I remember my sister had a bunch of them back in the day. Can anyone give me some info/advice?
