Golden Laced Orpington Project - Updated pictures on page 5

Thank you.

I started with several Barnevelders hens & Buff Orpington Roosters many generations ago. It has taken longer than I thought it would, however I did not want to use any other breeds so I just worked toward the end result by selectivebreeding of the offspring of the original breeding.

I have just started offering eggs this year on auction here and on BYC. I am hatching some more currently for myself so it may be a couple of weeks before I list more.

I got my pair from Greenfire today. Here's some pictures

Yes, he has the same temperment of most Orpingtons and is nice and gentle. My problem with these birds is fertility is low so it is taking forever to get any offspring. I do have a son now in the pen but he is second rooster so not much has improved. I may have to pull out the father for awhile and see what happens. The Lemon Blue has taken a back seat to my Golden Laced birds but I have not given up on them.

I take it they are in the "ugly" stage, lol. Reminds me of my cornish x feathering out.

What are you saying? You don't think they are the prettiest little birds you have ever seen. Kidding aside. I am hoping they grow into some lovely birds. I will try to post updated pictures weekly.
