    Chickens are eating Styrofoam!!! HELP!!!

    Hi, I know this post is from several years ago, but did you ever find out about whether the chemicals from the Styrofoam pass through to the eggs? I'm assuming they do, but I'm having a difficult time finding info on the subject and would like to know how long to avoid eating my chickens eggs...

    Chicken laid her first egg....then stopped.

    She laid a second egg on Wednesday - 13 days after her first! Again, she laid it right in her nesting box during the late afternoon. She laid a third on Thursday afternoon!

    Thank you for your encouraging words. Can someone tell me if they have ever had a chicken do this though? She laid a big beautiful egg. You'd think that means her body is ready to lay. But she has not laid one since and that was 9 days ago.

    Thanks for your tips! The idea of them holding out until 26 weeks is difficult, especially since we got that teaser egg! My kids check the nesting box 6 times a day in eager anticipation of the follow up. We thought getting an egg meant that she was good to go and would be laying eggs regularly...
