yes, we still have 6 more eggs in the bator. today is the 22 1/2 day though and still no cracks or rocking. do you think they could still possibly hatch? i am praying that they will. the other chick was dead, so we removed him and added more water (humidity was too low). i will not open...
i took off the complete shell and so just the membrane was left and i saw about a nickel sized yolk. also, the chick was not breathing, before or after i started. do you think it might've just given up and died in the shell? right now i have it wrapped up in a wet wash cloth in the incubator...
okay i started gently picking off some of the shell and wet down the membrane. through the membrande i could see blood vessels, but it wasn't leaking out, i think it was blood vessels that were already abosorbed. i dont know if i should continue on, or leave it alone now.
this chick made it first crack yesterday at about 2pm. it doesn't look like a normal crack though. is hasn't moved or made the crack bigger since 5pm yesterday. what should i do? should i try and help it out? any suggestions would be great. i was trying to get a pic but it wouldn't turn out good...
i know he is so adorable. he is a little pecker though! lol. i was supposed to have blue splash so she probably just got the egg color mixed up. i have a supposed to be white hatching right now also. so well see.
that would be so cool if he was a blue. ill post new pics of him when he is older to get some other ideas. i looked up vent sexing day old chicks and from that he looked like a roo. but is was hard to tell and i am not even 60% sure. we'll just have to wait and see.
he just hatched yesterday at 11:30am so it will probably impossible to tell what sex he is. anyways below is his picture. also, what color silkie do you think he is? he is SUPPOSED to be white, but i don't think so.

ok i finally figured out how to do the picture. this picture is him @ 7 hours. do you think he is a white silkie? the egg was marked as white, but i think he might be splash. what do you think?
i had doubts about his color too. but these are my first silkies and my first chickens. what color do you think he might be? i was thinking splash. 3 of the eggs are supposed to be splash and 5 are supposed to be white so maybe they just got his color mixed up with one of the other eggs. his...
no it's not bubbling, and it is not continually oozing out or anything. it more like a light cream or white, not yellow like yolk. the humidity is at 69% so i dont think humidity is a problem. and it's definatey not blood.
any other ideas? i am going to try to get the picture enlarged a bit.
yesterday was day 21 and only one out of 8 chicks hatched. however, we had been hearing pips all last night, but saw no cracks. but just a second ago i noticed a small crack in one of the 7 eggs still in the incubator. but there is something comeing out of the crack that looks sort of gooey...
