So our hen has laid 5 of these eggs now. The largest one has been 6.5 ounces. Here is a video I posted of us cracking one open.

Danielnv....I thought of that as well. Did you crack open your egg yet? Has your hen laid multiples as well? We just had her 5th laid yesterday. I thought this would be a once or twice occurrence but she just keeps on going poor thing.

So this must be a regular thing with my hen. She just laid her fourth one! She seems to be fine. This one weighed a little less.

That's what we thought at first. We thought maybe 4 yolks inside. Man were we surprised!

Our hen that is laying them is a Welsummer.

Ok we finally took video of us cracking it open. Our hen is still doing well and hasn't laid another one yet. We will see.

She's doing great! I'm going to have to keep monitoring her since this now seems to be a normal thing for her. Oh and her last egg weighs 6.5 ounces. Ouch!!!

I know how that is...I think we are going to end up with a few Roos from what I'm seeing. I keep telling the kids that we have quite a few chicks and that not all of them will be able to stay. I would try posting an ad on Craigslist as well. There seem to be lots of people looking for chickens...
