    Wellcome to BYC! I love Buff Orpingtons! Really sweet and tame. I'm not good at guessing the gender without seeing how long the legs are. To me roosters always look taller, with a ruffle of coarser feathers around their neck. I don't see that on this one! Good luck! :fl

    You should check your other hens also and treat your roost with a poultry insecticide. If one hen has them, usually the other members of the flock have them. You can cure this. :fl
