    My father-in-law broke my chickens!

I am so lucky to have neighbors who love my chickens as much as we do and take fantastic care of them for me on an occasional weekend trip. They don't eat many eggs but haven't had to buy an egg since mine started laying. I wouldn't trust my Girls with anyone else.

Introducing youngsters to the old(er) ladies???

My Big Girls are 3 months old and my Little Girls are a month old. Yesterday I put the little ones in a pen just outside the Big Girls run. They all were very interested in each other for the first little bit but then mostly ignored each other. This morning I let out the Big Girls to free range...

Free Range Chickens and Close Neighbours

My Girls recently found a hole in the fence that I didn't know about behind some bushes. When I saw them in the neighbors yard I panicked, I didn't want to bother the neighbors and didn't know how to get the girls back home. Although not trained yet to come when called I brought out their feed...

tips for getting them back in the tractor?

I use a leaf rake being careful to not push them with it just keeping it behind them to keep them motivated to go in the right direction. The Bamboo stick idea is the same without tines.
