I use the non-slide kitchen cabinet liner for floor of the brooder but also put hay and pine shavings around the edges. It seems to give them something to pick at instead of each other.
I put them in at night and they do have a roost. They lay their eggs outside and the end of the pen is a gate that gives me access for the eggs and cleaning.
Mine will not use the cups had them plumed up with a 5 gal bucket they worked fine, but the bobs would not use them. I use rabbit water bottles now and the drink just fine from them.
