Other than the unsightly appearance, there's nothing wrong with the shell. Its hard, firm and strong and appears just as solid as any other egg with no weaknesses.
Any idea what form of 'stress' has caused this to happen. These are all today's eggs and I had the same thing happen from this chicken yesterday as well
I really should get you a better photo, coz its the one at the back I'm unsure of. The one nearest the camera is a Golden Brahma, but just don't know what the other is. Dad of both is our Barred Wyandotte rooster. She came from a white egg.
Lots of stuff going on here at the moment - just dealing with the moult is one thing but getting ready for winter and the preparation for control of the mud in the paddocks and fields takes up lots of time.

My 4 Wyandotte bantams are running with 34 LF and the LF rooster with no problems! Not sure if their eggs are fertile though as they aren't laying due to being quite young still (18 weeks).

What's the optimum number of hens for my rooster to look after? It only just occurred to me, whilst sitting here watching my incubator, that if there were too many of them in his harem, he might not get round to all of them and I might well have a higher percentage of infertile eggs...
Ok! So baby Alice is now 2 weeks old and huge! I've got 11 more eggs due to hatch today in the incubator. I feel more prepared this time. No whistling or cheeping yet but there's time! Instinct tells me not to put the new hatchlings in with baby Alice (2weeks old) and foster mum 'Rocky' in case...
