Some sweet pictures I got of my babies. In the past day or so. These guys have helped so much with my depression and anxiety.
I lost my baby chick Daisy as I've posted in forums before. She was a few weeks old and had just recovered from a dog bite, only to be killed by her mama (who I've since forgiven). But... I can't forgive myself. Does the guilt ever go away? I'm the one who put her in there, thinking they were excited to see her again..
Recently taught my Orpington hen, Goldie, that if she exits the kennel by herself I can pick her up and pet her.
Worked too well. Now she darts out when I open the door. Luckily she comes to me but jeez.
Don't be like me. Be careful what you teach these birds!!
So proud of mama Truffles and her first babies. I feel so honored she trusts me around her chicks.
As you can tell, they're too young to be sexed, therefore they won't receive names for about 3 weeks. Haven't decided yet on if I'll keep all 6. Heavily depends on their behavior when they're older.
