I wouldn't eat any of the ones that died from overheating in the box. You don't know how long ago they died for sure.

Sounds normal to me, chickens all have their own special little voice...lol!

I make kombucha also ! A friend of mine taught me to add a cup of frozen berries to the tea after its fermented for 7-10 days. It's so delicious!!! We got our scobi from a friend.....if you don't know people who make kombucha, try craigslist maybe?? Or coops for food in your area.

If you lived closer I would happily give you our 2 rabbits. Our kids got them for Easter and almost immediately lost interest. Guess whose rabbits they are now, for all intents and purposes?? They are stinky little buggers. Other than their fur being so soft, I can't really say anything nice...
