    LOL Just made chix and dumplings tonight with one of the broilers. The EE is posted on craigslist..hoping to trade for a pullet maybe. But thanks for the info..good to know. Hubby will be glad he won't have to process it.

    Yeah craigslist sounds like a good idea..had to do that before with a BR. We don't name or pay much attention to the meat birds as to not get attached, but the 'girls' that is a different story altogether lol.

    Thanks all... I was thinking that she might be a he...one of the leghorns and this one go at each other and this one puffs right up to her. Familiar from the last BR that turned out to be a He.

    Ok..thanks ...that clears up a lot. I bought them from TSC as straight run Americaunas. She/He maybe too young yet to tell gender. Only 8 weeks now.

    I could use some help here... We have 4 hens just over a year old. 2 BR and 2 Isa Browns. In march we bought 6 chicks..2 more Isa's and 2 leghorns and 2 easter eggers. {One of those may be a roo but more on that after I take a picture.} Anyway.. ONE of the older IBs is going after the younger...

    de-worming questions

    My girls are a year old and have never done anything regarding de-worming. Maybe I'm behind the eight-ball on this? I use DE in the coop and run which is sand. Is worming done just to prevent worms? I've not had an issue w/ any. I'm going to try the cayenne flakes route but have never...
