Hi Henry -
Thanks, but I really can't house any more cockerals/roos right now. Besides, I'd have to WAIT a generation to get those beautful eggs!! LOL!
Will you you be having any Ameraucana pullets/hens available in the future? The blue is SO pretty, but I'm not picky about color...
And...
Hello -
I am looking for a couple EE pullets, or possibly some hatching eggs. Bantam size would be preferred, but will take standards!
I'm in the Annapolis area of Maryland, but I'm planning on attending the World of Pets Expo in Timonium in the end of January, and the Poultry show in Belair...
Posting for a friend in Maryland:
Desperately looking for a Silver Appleyard Drake, and a couple Bobwhite quail hens - send location and price info, or what you'd be willing to trade for.
She has lots of baby button quail to trade/sell, and various different types of hatching eggs - let me...

I think it might depend on where you are in Bowie - if its a "neighborhood" type setting, chickens could pose problems with your neighbors, and you might have to keep them so many feet from a residential dwelling, or you might have to have so many square feet of property before...

Thanks SO much for your detailed explanation! It all makes sense now...
Is there a site that shows pics of silkie chicks at various ages? I mean, one that shows the progression of their coloring and how different colors develop?

You can try hay, but I can tell you that none of my guys eat it - they never did. I normally have to shred it and mix it in with greens just to get some fiber into them. Opuntia (prickly pear) cactus is also very high in fiber if you can find it (I grow about 40 pots of prickly pear in my...
The chick in the first pic I posted looked like a blue until about a week ago, then all those reddish feathers started popping out on its breast. Lilpeeps, you said it was a blue partridge, but there has never been any barring or stripes on this bird?
The chick in the second pic had those...
Frontline is water proof, as long as its put on 48 hours before the bath (although I prefer to put it on 48 hours AFTER the bath).
Check out the prices here: http://www.entirelypets.com. I have 7 dogs, and wouldn't be able to afford Frontline if I had to buy it from my vet, so that's where I...
Thats the way I do it - oatmeal makes great bedding and its cheaper than the mealworm bedding that they sell. I order 500 or 1000 of the largest mealworms usually - tried the superworms, but the beetles got too big for me, and they didn't reproduce fast enough.
But make sure you use a box or...
Omigosh - I found tortoise people on a chicken forum!!! How cool is THAT????
I've kept tortoises for the last 15 years - leopards, redfoots, Russians, Greeks, sulcatas, boxies, etc... Here's a link to my tortoise site if you'd like to see some pics (gotta do some updating tho)...
Hey from Edgewater in AA Co!!! Don't know much about that square footage thing, but we've got that beat anyway...
Glad to see some Bowie people here, too - my family moved there in 1968 and I graduated from Bowie High School.

Ok, last one and I'll try not to bother y'all anymore...
This pic was taken right after the chick hatched and dried a month ago - it still looks pretty much the same color wise, but with adult plumage coming thru. See what you think:
And the underside:
Great - thanks all! Now here is another - could it be a splash?
BTW, I forgot to mention, this and all previous chicks are a month old in these pics...
