My Plymouth Rocks and Silver Wayndotte are finally laying. Now my question is can I eat these first couple of eggs or should I wait for the "second" round of eggs to start eating them. This first egg is small, but I've read they will get bigger. Is that true?
Thanks
Thanks for the help. It is a particle board. And I just bought some paint and sealer. As soon as it dries out I'll cover it and replace what I can when I can. Thanks again
Last night I went out to check on my 3, 7 week old chickens to make sure they had gone up in thier coop because it sarted raining pretty heavy just before sun down, I found them huddled together in a corner of the run soaking wet. I dont know why they chose to stay outside instead of going in...
OK, I need some advice. Im two weeks into my first ever chicken adventure and I feel bad because I built my coop on a VERY TIGHT budget. I have a small (3.5'X4') coop and I used a cheaper plywood to build it. We have had ALOT of rain in Louisville, KY over the past two weeks and last night I...

I just got my new chicks. They are 5 weeks old. 2 Barred Rocks and 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte!! They are great. This is our first ever chicken adventure and I'm not sure when it is ok to start giving them other things to eat besides feed. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This is my first post! I just joined the forum today. My wife and I are getting our first chickens in about two weeks and in the meantime I am building the coop and run. The coop will be 3'WX4'LX3.5'H. It will be raised 2.5' off the ground with a part of the run under it. I want the pop...
