See my post regarding a similar problem with a BO. I used CaciBoost in the water and it is helping....

UPDATE: So the CaliBoost seems to be working. It has been a couple of weeks and the BO is back to laying regular eggs. The first one she produced after the CalciBoost was added to the water was nice and thick however the coloring was not consistent an the texture was a little rough. However, the...
Candy, That is a bummer. Maybe BOs just aren't the best for egg production.
Sorry about your loss... I know our family will be sad if that happens to us...
@usschicago1 and ALL
Thanks for the article. I read that per your suggestion prior to your posting it directly here. The one thing that stands out to me is the bit where they say you should not force calcium... it should be free choice... and that is exactly not where I am headed which concerns...
Thanks all for your input... I have tried the greens treats with more calcium thing.... and no help. Lots of money for eggs made at home with no fruition except for the first 9 mos of production.
It may just be this particular BO's chemistry. If the CalciBoost in the water doesn't help after a...

Plan to put the CalciBoost in the water. Our other hen will get it too so I think I will keep the dose pretty small. Our lot...
The mash I formerly was feeding them had it mixed in. When this started a month ago I provided the oyster shell free choice and yes it was disappearing but the BO was still laying soft eggs. I have started just throwing it in the run with some mash for them to have to peck at now that I switched...
Hi All... At wits end here with a soft egg issue with a 16 mo/old BO. Over a month now and only a few normal eggs (the normal ones are nice and thick)... 98% are soft. Giving oyster shell. Switched from mash to crumbles thinking she might be a picky eater. Stopped treats for over a week as a...
I am having the same problem. My soft layer is a pig and will eat all treats and keep the other hen away while see gobbles up everything.
We have a theory that she is not getting enough calcium because she fills up on treats.... So no treats anymore (for a while at least). It has been a few...
