Hello All,
My wife is a Kindergarten teacher. She incubated some eggs for her students to experience. Check out the link below to see them hatch.

I have a small flock of less then 10 birds. I have been wanting to add a Black Copper Maran due to its dark color egg. They are not easy to come by and I just don't have the room to incubate 12 dozen.
I have read that if you want a Black Copper Maran you should get a Bev Davis or Wade Jeanie...

Chicken name: Shelley
Chicken Breed: Barred Rock
Chicken age: 1 week
Category: Sleepy
Details: My daughter decided to lay with her new friend. We thought this was a very cute picture.
We have five chicks coming next week (Not Bantams). But we have two week old chicks (Silkies) in the brooder now.
Should we be concerned about integrating them together?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
We are getting three silkie bantoms this weekend and getting five more on August 8th. Do you think this going to be a problem using this brooder for all of them. I'm concerned about the age difference.

We have just ordered five chicks from a online hatchery. (Welsummer, Barred Plymouth Rock, Easter Egger, Speckled Sussex, and a Assorted Feather-Legged Bantam)
I would like to make a brooder that would work for the next 5-6 weeks. I see a lot of small brooders that would be great for chicks...
