    Alot of places have permanent sale cages that you have to put your birds in, like at Hillsdale. They've been using the same cages since I was a wee lad, 40+ years ago. I dont think they are gonna sell those with a chicken haha. But I've never heard of it. I dont know what such a rule would...

    You could try putting hardware cloth on the ground 2 feet around the outer perimeter. No predator will try digging from more than 2 feet away and go under. They will try to dig right at the edge of the coop, and hit wire. Maybe you can rig a way to make it fold up for when you need to move...

    I hatched some lt sussex chicks about 2 weeks ago now. They are the most skittish things ever. I've always had chicks come running when when i tap on something before, but these little buggers run away. I dont know whats wrong with them. lol Is that sand in the brooder? Hows that work out...

    It looks like it reads about 0.5 F high at the freezing point, and about 0.5 F low at 194 F. So that would make it about dead on at 112.5 F. At incubating temps around 100 F, it will probably be about 0.09 F high, which is pretty close.

    yeah, it looks like a sugar maple, but they are similar and leaves vary on each tree. Sugar maple tends to have 3 larger lobes on the leaf and 2 smaller ones at the bottom. Norway maples have 5 similar sized lobes. With a picture of the twig with buds I could tell you for sure. Or if there...
