Sap is flowing like mad right now. The jugs were overflowing when I got up. Switched them out even before letting the girls out and before coffee was started.
On a side note, the MSFC received a note today regarding the Farm Bill and Urban Farms. Senator Stabenow is hosting five (5) meetings about this topic.

After passage of the 2014 Farm Bill, there has been incredible interest in how this new law can benefit agriculture in Michigan's urban communities. I invite you to participate in one of five forums being conducted by experts from my staff, as well as from the USDA and Michigan State University. These forums will focus on the programs and resources available from the 2014 Farm Bill to advance agriculture in Michigan's urban communities, and provide an opportunity for you and other stakeholders to share your successes, challenges and ideas.

It's a sugar maple.

@myfarm4579 can you tell what kind of maple this is from the buds? ...and what that bug is trying to eat them? Found one of those in the tap jug too. What ever maple the tree is, it is gushing sap today....was overflowing this morning and almost half full again now.

Silver maple.

Alright here we have the RIRs. I'm hoping for only one rooster, but I'm starting to wonder.

The first is the one I've been calling Rudy, because I'm pretty sure he's a rooster





The next one is spotty, because of spotty feathers. I think this is a pullet





And finally is Chicken B, because Rudy is the smallest of them all, and Spotty is the largest of them all. I originally thought Chicken B was pullet, but now I'm starting to wonder...











I have a video processing that shows all of them going about their business, including Chicken B's amazing cantaloupe balancing act. I'll post that later on. It's about 7 minutes long and shows them even better than the pictures. Also, Chicken B shows off it's amazing singing voice, AKA screeching at the camera .
