It depends on how many nesting boxes you have. The one your broody is in could be the one they all lay in. Also, they could be getting in the same nest and still laying their eggs. Try to check under your broody to see if there is still only 5 eggs under her, but try not to disturb her to much.
The humidity is very important. It needs to be 75% to 80%. Try spaying the eggs with a spray bottle BUT not cold water and don't leave the incubator open too long.
You should breed your Copper Maran Rooster over you Americana hen. Then raise up the pullets from that. Those pullet will lay the olive colored egg aka olive egger. I am doing this right now myself.
I don't have much experience with this, but I have heard that this is caused from dehydration or not eating which causes them to become weak. I would try using a syringe and giving some sugar water. Just keep a close eye on her.
I am new to BYC and I have a question. My hen's wing is hanging lower than her other wing. She still moves it a little, but she is having trouble getting on her roost. I don't know what is wrong. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks
Your hen is broody (motherly) which means she wants to hatch some eggs. Even thought you took all the eggs out, she will still sit on her nest for a while. Make sure she eats and drinks and doesn't sit in her nest all day. If possible, take out the nest box. Since she is broody, she will not lay...
If you are looking for brown eggs, the Rhode Island Reds, Productions Reds, and Sex Links are great layers.
If you want white eggs, White Leghorns are the best layers and they start laying early.
