    We have 19 three week old chicks. The weather is getting warmer here in Texas. The chicks seem awefully crowded in the 2'-4' brooder. Im thinking of moving them to the run and coup. Your advice? I put hay on the floor of the run and coup. Is that a good idea? It seems like an awefully fluffy...

    We just installed chicken nipples. How do we know when they are all using them and I can take out the other water supply?

    We have RIR and Dark Brahma. 19 in all. We lost one to the feed store cat on the first day. The rest are going strong.

    Our chicks seem to be doing well in their second day here. We found a few cases of pasty butt which were lovingly relieved of them. I found a piece of a small curved limp with a Y in it and placed it in the brooder to see if they will roost. Having lots of fun!

    Our chick are chasing a moth (and its shadow) that got trapped in their new home with them. Simple pleasures in life.

    Awesome thread, We have twenty first time chicks due to arrive any day and We will eventually get around to naming them. I am amazed that I found all these names all in one place! This is an awesome place!
