    Bad eye.

My female muscovy hen was brooding her egg in a nesting box ground level, I have a broody chicken that just hatched out her peep a week ago. All the chickens would not leave my duck alone and have been beating her up really bad, but she would defend her nest like the good brooder that she is. I...

How many eggs can a Muscovy hen lay?

My Muscovy hen has laid and I kid you not...over 65 eggs! She lays pretty much everyday, maybe missing a day once in a while, but not very offten. Anyone know how long this can go on for? She's won't be a year old until August!!!!!!!!!!

    Foxes....

What are you planning on doing with them once you catch them? In most states it is illegal to relocate them off of the property you caught them on. Calling animal control, we have somone in our area that will take care of them once there caught.

    Foxes....

We've got a fox den about 100 yards from our hen house, would like to live trap them if possible. Any suggestions on what to bait the trap with? I've read that chicken entrails works good, or live mice. Any ideas out there?

    New ducks......

I'm trying to find a couple muscovy hens to add to my brood. Right now I have 3 drakes and 1 hen ( yeah tell me about it). Just wanted to know, if I find them can I put them together right away, or do I have to seperate them for awhile like chickens?

Went to TSC and came home with 4 Mallard ducklings....questions

I bought 6 ducklings from tsc last year and had to wait until they started to feather out before I found out what they were. Only thing about mallards is they fly away! Mine found the lake behind us and started going down there during the day and would come home to eat and sleep (just like...

    Bad foot.....

Thanks for the link...he's already on the bottom of the list...which really suprised me, because he's always been the biggest. But I guess size doesn't matter to a fickle hen!

    Bad foot.....

Quote: Can't really tell if it's foot, toe or ankle just know he seems for be favoring it. Is there a picture of this sling thing? I have a big dog crate that I'm thinking of putting him into just so he gets off that foot for a while and gives it a rest and so the other drakes leave him alone...

    Bad foot.....

My scovy drake seems to have injured one of his feet, I'm not a vet, but I think it may be broken. I picked him up and it seems like he can't grip with it. Please don't tell me to put him down or anything else like that. Just want to know if it can heal on its own, or do I need to splint it or...

Who has roosters with frostbite? :(

My Buff Orpington rooster has frostbite on his comb and wattles and it just seems to be getting worse. It's been an anusually cold and snowy season in NE ohio, with yet another storm on the way. Is he going to have permanent damage to his comb and could he loose the whole thing? He lives in a...

    Bald hens....

A couple of my hens are losing the feathers on the backs of there heads. Is this caused by the rooster when he's mounting them? It seems to be his favorite hens that have this problem.
