My husband went to Geboe's about an hour ago and made the mistake of informing me they got their ducklings and chicks in early. Lucky for him we just brought home 20 new EE chicks 3 wekks ago. We had previously agreed that we would wait till after Easter to get ducklings... but I already called my boss & i'm leaving work early to go get my new ducklings

I bought 6 ducklings from tsc last year and had to wait until they started to feather out before I found out what they were. Only thing about mallards is they fly away!
Mine found the lake behind us and started going down there during the day and would come home to eat and sleep (just like teeagers). They took off last fall and I haven't seen them since, I'm hoping that one day I'll get up and they'll be back.

It made me very sad when they left, I had hand feed them and everything!! Hope you have better luck then I did, but my advise is don't get to attached to them, because it hurts to much when they fly away. I have muscovy's now...they don't fly away, and as a matter of fact, I can't get them away from the chicken house.

We have a very large coop, actually 2 horse stalls in our barn with an attached ring/run that will be covered with netting this spring. I plan to keep the ducks with the chickens, so unless they are experts at escaping, they won't be able to fly away.

Haha Rancher!!

I walked into TSC on Tuesday for chicken food...I bought that and came out with 4 ducklings!! It is an addiction!!!!....but I don't think I want help for it...they are so much fun!! and too cute!!!!

I don't know what TSC is but since I ONLY buy the birds I've planned on buying, maybe I could contract to their customers as "the voice of reason". LMFAO

As to this being an addiction...... I soooo agree. I only wanted 4 ducks when I stared my adventure last year (April) and now I have almost 100 birds (quails, ducks, geese, chickens and guinea's) and I have 30 on order from Metzers and a bator full of eggs just waiting to hatch.

When my DH asks me if I've got enough....I tell him my pets make me breakfast...sometimes they make me dinner, and if worst come to worst I'd have a freezer full of dinner if things ever got so bad I couldn't keep them any longer.

I think of all the things we could be addicted to Ducks/chickens are the best addiction out there. And they are much healthier then a box of donuts...lol or a bag of coke or a bottle of booze

Just think every day we get up and go outside for some fresh air.... We are happy watching our birds and doing things for them. I also get to hand feed most of mine. And I get sooo excited when I find eggs. And with my extra eggs I donate them to my sons school and they eat them. And my son and I take some of the ducks in to visit the kids...they love this they don't often get to see ducks or chickens up close.

And I'm also so happy that there are places like that that people understand my addiction and support me. Most of the general population thinks i'm quacked

Now to go let the birds out....get dressed and head out to my local TSC to see what is happening there
