Hello everyone,
I picked up three buff Pomeranian and six various colored Sebastopol goslings this past June: four Sebastopols to add to my flock and two for a friend.
Out of the six Sebastopol goslings, only four of them have curly feathers: two of mine and the two that went to my friend. My...
I didn't realize that until after I responded, then had a light bulb moment lol
Let's see... I have white, buff, blue bibbed, black bibbed, butterscotch, chocolate, blue magpie, black magpie, silver magpie (I think?), and snowy.
I was excited to hatch a couple grey and a couple blue fawn this...
I think I miscounted the ducklings, so I may actually have 62 🤔
Out of the adults, there are 14 drakes and 26 hens. Then there are 21 or 22 ducklings. The youngest of them just got their big boy / girl voices, but I haven't paid attention to which belongs to who yet.
Then there's all my geese...
Our first hand built coop is in the works, and the base frame is almost complete.
We're attempting to make it mobile since I move their fence around, but still working out the logistics :fl
I have some ducklings that look like blue fawn, though I have none of the above mentioned colors as adults 🤔
I'm pretty sure my four are butterscotch, not pastel. I for sure have no grey or blue fawn adults.
Can't you get blue fawn from a snowy x buff pairing?
I'm happy to hear your ducks are feeling more comfortable 😊
My Calls are not kept in an enclosure with a roof. They're out with my geese and Welsh Harlequins in a large area that is surrounded by electric fencing, which I move around to fresh pasture periodically. Then everyone gets locked up at...
These are my Welsh Harlequins as ducklings. They never showed any signs of the traditional mallard pattern like your ducklings do.
It's hard to say what a cross would look like though, especially since we don't know what it would be crossed with
In any case, they sure are cute!
None of the adults that I have are crested, so I wasn't planning on hatching any crested ducklings to begin with. But apparently there are carriers of the gene within my flock.
When I moved her head out of her shell during hatch, my heart kind of dropped a bit honestly. I don't really like the...
@WVduckchick
This is the crested duckling at the bottom of the photo. I'm a relative newbie to call ducks, so I'm unfamiliar with the exact differences between some of the colors as ducklings.
The adults that I have are blue, buff, butterscotch, chocolate, silver, snowy, white, and a couple that are odd colors.
I did not separate the colors this season, so I'm not sure what colors these ducklings are going to be.
In any case, have some cuties. Plus two Welsh Harlequin ducklings and a...
I agree with a lot of others that it's a combination of so many features that I like about the Nestera coops. Then the 25 year guarantee shows that the company is willing to stand behind their products.
