I have a bantam mottled Cochin chick and darn it if that thing didn’t start crowing this morning!! Scared the heck out of my older pullets!!

I also have 5 bantams but I’m not worried about them, they’re separate from the others for now

I have 2 white leghorns, 2 Rhode Island reds, and 2 Ameracaunas

I guess my question really is if switched to a layer feed would they eat less? If not, then I will keep them on starter feed until 18 weeks

I wish I could free range them all day but until I can build a covered run I keep them in the coop and their smaller run until evening when I can be outside with them. We’ve had a few close encounters with hawks

They’re eating it. Their feeder is pretty hard to flick food out of. I’m just wondering if anyone has. Switched earlier.

Helloooo!! My 11-12 week old chickens are eating a TON of starter feed. I know the bag says 18 weeks to switch to big chick feed, but has anyone switched sooner? Would this fill them up more? They do get a supplemental diet of Treats (Treats for chickens chicken crack) fruits and veggies...

Thank you so much..I’m still upset about it and watching my partridge silkie like a hawk.. so far she seems very active and happy and keeping up with the big girls. It’s not usual for the electricity to it was about 2 weeks

Good morning, well kind of.. I woke up and our electricity was out. I immediately checked my brooder. I had 4 small silkies, one that is approx 5 weeks, one about 4 weeks, and two about 2-3 weeks old. Upon discovery, the “mama hen” as I call her because she is already mothering the others...

I have two areas one heated and one not ☺️

I guess this is possible.. but I didn’t see anything. I’m pretty sure the coop is predator proof.. I couldn’t see any way for something to get inside
