This is Fiona, a SLW. She will be a year old May 2011. She was a rescued from the local farmstore and had spraddle leg. Fiona fully recovered and integrated very well into a small flock of 4 bantams. She towers over them, but is like the baby of the bunch still. She loves raisins, hanging...

    Pheasant and Coccidia Treatment?

Do you find that treating with Corid or sulfadimethoxine is more effective to use in treatment of coccidia? Last time I had it, I used the sulfa- (not Sulmet) per Peter Brown's advice and it got rid of it? But, have read that corid is safer to use and doesn't affect the kidneys as much, but...

    Coccidia Outbreak

Would you all suggest Corid or sulfadimethoxine as being more beneficial/effective in treatment? Have read that sulfadimethoxine (Not Sulmet) is effective but can be hard on kidneys and Corid more safe, but may not treat as well. Any thoughts?

    Coccidia Outbreak

Well, I have a coccidia outbreak with my outdoor chickens. Maybe my experience will help someone else know the signs before it is too late. Noticed blood in someone's poo yesterday which alerted me. BUT, I have had one hen that has been lethargic, droopy, feathers ruffled looking and Not...

All My Chicks Are Dying!! Please Help

Corid 9.6% solution, 1t. per gallon of water I believe is the dosage for 5 days. If you have a different strength or the powder, there are other posts on here for that dosage. Am dealing with coccidia outbreak right now in my outdoor flock with all the mud and yuck going on.

Help, my chicken just lost her top beak!

I had one that lost his top beak pretty close to that amount. I trimmed the bottom one a little bit to even up (bit Be Careful and do not trim to the quick-you can see the shading if you trim with pet nail clippers in good light, then file gently with emory on edges to point). I put some...
