I would check with the state game and fish commission because they regulate your wildlife rules and regulations.

The Gamebird Starter crumbles that I feed my young quail is made by Nutrena and most feed stores carry this brand.

    Feed for baby quail?

Can you get Gamebird starter? If not I have heard Chris on Slightly Rednecked YouTube say that you could increase the protein by adding dry cat food to the chick starter.

    Why no eggs?

I am no expert or anything like it. Just started raising Coturnix quail myself but I was wondering how many hours of daylight do they get? From everything I have read and heard they need 12 to 14 hours of light to lay consistently. So you might think about that. I have seen where people used...

    How much feed to buy?

I have 35 3 1/2 week old chicks and I have already had to buy my second bag of starter (50 pounds) so a 50 lb. bag is cheaper than buying smaller amounts. They will go through the feed because they are still growing and need all the nutrition they can get.

    Brooding cages

You could build it any way you like and paint it and put casters on it so that you can move it around easily and also place some plywood on top when not in use and use it for storage. You can do anything to it that you can think of.

    Brooding cages

Yes it probably would be. I have my heat lamp hooked up to an inkbird controller to control the temperature. I fixed mine like one from Chris’ video on YouTube Slightly Rednecked using a plastic ammo box and electrical outlet. You could also put casters on the brooder so that it can be easily...
